ABOUT US
70+ Years of Tradition on the Peninsula.
The PV Packers are a group of boys and adults who are interested and excited about the adventures and opportunities in Scouting. The Troop is completely dependent on the commitment of both the Scout and his parents or adults for activities to happen.
History of Troop 257
Scout Troop 257 began its journey on Valentine’s Day in 1939 in Hermosa Beach, finding its permanent home on April 30, 1952, under the sponsorship of the Neighborhood Church of Palos Verdes Estates. For over seven decades, our scouts have traded the ordinary for the extraordinary — lacing up boots for hundreds of backcountry treks, paddling through whitewater rapids, and journeying to legendary destinations like the Philmont Scout Ranch and National Scout Jamborees.
While the scouting program has evolved, our core values remain unchanged. Powered by dedicated parent volunteers and community leaders, Troop 257 serves as a premier launchpad for life. Our youth take the reins as Senior Patrol Leaders, master practical outdoor crafts, give back through community service, and routinely achieve scouting's highest honor: the Eagle Scout rank.
